1. The project
SrvSurvey-XP is the cross-platform fork of SrvSurvey maintained by
Fenris159 and its
contributors. The original
SrvSurvey project by njthomson
is credited as the upstream foundation.
The app reads local Elite Dangerous files and offers exploration,
exobiology, mining, navigation, Guardian, colonization, combat,
carrier and related companion tools. The website provides project
information, documentation and links. The project is independent
of Frontier Developments, Google and the community services it
integrates with; linking to a service does not imply that service
endorses SrvSurvey-XP.
2. Open-source software rights
The software’s permissions are governed by its GNU GPL v3
license.
These website and optional-service terms do not add restrictions
to your rights to run, study, modify or redistribute GPL-covered
software. If a term here conflicts with the applicable software
license, the license controls those software rights.
Read the complete
license distributed with SrvSurvey-XP
and obtain its
source code
from GitHub. Third-party components can carry their own notices
and licenses. Preserve required notices and follow the applicable
license when distributing modified versions. Using the software
does not grant ownership of the project’s name, logo or
third-party trademarks.
3. Using project-hosted services
When using the website, issue tracker or activity endpoint, do not
attempt unauthorized access, send malicious content, abuse request
rates or impersonate the project or another user. These conditions
concern hosted services; they do not limit rights granted by the
software license.
Use credentials only for accounts you are authorized to access.
Keep API keys, authorization tokens and your local profile files
secure. Do not post another person’s private information in
support requests. Features that share game observations should be
used in accordance with the receiving service’s rules and the
game’s applicable terms.
The project does not charge a subscription for the software.
Internet access, Google storage or other third-party services may
have their own costs, limits and requirements.
4. Optional third-party connections
Google Drive and Frontier linking require your explicit
authorization through their login flows. EDDN, Inara, direct EDSM,
VoxStellar, Raven Colonial and other supported publication
features have their own settings or credential requirements.
Public reference lookups and daily installation activity reporting
are described in the Privacy Policy.
You choose which optional features to enable and remain
responsible for any account or credential you provide. Review the
receiving service’s terms and privacy policy before authorizing
access or publication. The maintainer does not operate or control
these external services and cannot guarantee their availability,
accuracy, retention or deletion behavior.
Community observations you publish may be distributed to other
tools or public datasets. Disabling a publisher stops future
applicable submissions but does not retract data already received
or redistributed. Avoid enabling duplicate publication in multiple
companion applications.
Google Drive access is limited to SrvSurvey-XP’s private app-data
files. Linking Google does not give SrvSurvey-XP access to
ordinary Drive documents or grant the maintainer access to your
Google account.
5. Backups, synchronization & saved work
Keep an independent copy of important settings and saved work.
SrvSurvey-XP profile backups cover supported data, rather than
every file in your game or application directory. Credentials, raw
journals, screenshot files and queued API reports are excluded
from the profile-sync snapshot.
Synchronization can encounter conflicts, connectivity failures,
storage limits or interrupted shutdowns. Review restore and
conflict choices before applying them. Hardware-specific settings
are intended to restore on their originating machine and operating
system. Close all SrvSurvey-XP instances when the app instructs
you to do so for a restore.
Cloud deletion is permanent. Clearing stored backups does not
prevent a different linked computer from uploading a new backup
afterward. Disconnecting removes local authorization but does not
itself remove existing cloud files. Google storage quotas and
account access remain governed by Google.
6. Your content & project attribution
You retain any rights you have in your notes, screenshots, surveys
and other content. No ownership transfer to the maintainer occurs
just because the app processes data locally or uploads a backup to
your own Google Drive. You authorize the processing needed to
carry out the features you choose; a third-party sharing
destination may require additional permissions under its own
terms.
Only share content you have permission to share. Public GitHub
issues, contributions and uploaded diagnostic bundles are subject
to GitHub’s terms and the applicable project contribution or
license requirements.
The original SrvSurvey is credited to njthomson and upstream
contributors; the XP fork is maintained by Fenris159 and its
contributors. Elite Dangerous names, logos and game imagery are
owned by their respective rights holders. Screenshots on this site
are examples from the project, not guarantees of current prices,
rewards or live conditions.
7. Availability & accuracy
SrvSurvey-XP is community-maintained software under active
development. Release-candidate builds can contain defects.
Features, packages, reference data, interfaces and platform
compatibility may change over time; no fixed support period or
uninterrupted hosted-service availability is promised.
Market prices, mining results, predictions, exploration values and
route guidance are estimates or observations. They can become
outdated and should be checked against the game and destination
service. The app does not guarantee a payout, a mining yield, a
successful delivery or a particular gameplay outcome.
Desktop compositors, game updates, permissions, nested displays
and other platform differences can affect overlays, capture and
shortcuts. Consult the installation and troubleshooting guides for
supported configurations.
8. Warranty & liability
The GNU GPL v3 license contains the software’s warranty disclaimer
and liability provisions. The software and project-hosted
information are provided as available, without a promise that they
are error-free or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent
permitted by applicable law, the maintainers and contributors do
not accept liability for losses arising from use, unavailability
or inaccurate results, including lost data or interrupted
workflows.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights, warranties or liability
that applicable law does not allow to be excluded. No clause here
changes the warranty or other rights provided by the applicable
software license.
9. Changes to these terms
The effective date above identifies this version. Material changes
to project-hosted services or data practices should be reflected
in the relevant website page and release information. Changes here
do not retroactively withdraw rights already granted under an
open-source license. If you no longer want an optional connection,
disable or disconnect it and manage any retained data with the
relevant service.
